Sparks Church Campout

Location: Mt Rose Summit

Greetings campers, camper-ettes, first-timers and day campers,

August 15th
marks the 5th Annual Sparks SDA church campout and is sure to be
uplifting and rejuvenating as always. Come and experience church in the
mountains!

 

There is no charge for this event but I ask that you please let
me know if you plan to come for the day or overnight and how many.

Thanks to those who already have RSVP’d.

 

What to bring:

Overnight Campers: It can get down to the 40’s at night,
please plan accordingly. You can google “camp check list” to find everything
you need. Be sure to bring Bible, pen, paper, flash light, chair.

Day Campers: Chair, sack lunch, drinks, blanket or warm
jacket just in case.

Extra items needed: A little extra food to share for
Sabbath, firewood, towel or blanket to sit on or cover up, anything you might
find beneficial to you or your church family.

(There are vault style toilets and potable water on site. However,
you should bring your own clean drinking water to be safe)

 

Tentative Schedule of
events:

 

Friday 8/15:

12 noon – Meet at Sparks church to caravan to Mt Rose.
Leaving at 12.30.

Check in at 2pm or later.

7.30p Devotion and opening of Sabbath (sunset 7.56p)

 

Sabbath 8/16

5a – Sunrise hike overlooking Reno

9.30a – Song service / Announcements

10a – Divine interactive service

12p – Potluck lunch*

Free time: Nature walk, hiking, fellowship

5p – Potluck supper*

6p – AY (Sunset 7.55p)

8p – Games, songs

*if possible, please try to bring a little extra to share. The
church will provide some light breakfast items for 8/16 and plates and utensils
for Sabbath lunch and supper.

Sunday 8/17

5a – Sunrise hike overlooking Reno

9a – Morning Devotion

1p – Check out

 

Directions:

From Sparks church, head south on Hwy 395 towards Carson
City,  Take exit 56 for 431/Mt
Rose, Merge onto NV-431 W/Mt
Rose Hwy go 15.4 miles until you get to summit. The Mt Rose campground entrance
will be on the left exactly at the summit. For
Day campers: As you approach the summit you may need to pull out to the
right side parking area/pull out
.

 

Parking is very limited:

If you’re only coming for the day,
it would be best to park at the pull out on the right side of road as mentioned
above and walk in.. If you need assistance you can drive in, be dropped off and
have your car parked back outside the camp area. There are a few parking spots
within the camp facility but are available on a first come first served basis. If
you have any questions please call me when you arrive at the parking area outside
the campground.

 

As you enter the campground, the
first 2 camp spots on the left is where I will be. You can pull over to the
left until I can give you further instruction regarding parking/drop off etc.
